Fitch Ratings has kept India’s sovereign rating unchanged at BBB- with a negative outlook owing to a rise in public debt ratio and uncertainty on debt trajectory. The 2021 Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) Report was jointly released by UNDP and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI). The report provides estimates on multidimensional poverty across 109 developing countries (with data from surveys ranging 2009-2019/2020); These include 26 low-income countries, 80 middle-income countries and 3 high-income countries. The index measures each person’s deprivations across 10 indicators divided into three equally weighted dimensions.

India has been invited to become a full-time member of the International Energy Agency (IEA) by its Executive Director Fatih Birol, informed Union Housing and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The International Energy Agency is a Paris-based body, which was set up in 1974 by industrialised countries to ensure the security of oil supplies amid the 1973 oil crisis. Overall, Varanasi will be the third city in the world after Bolivia and Mexico City to use ropeway in public transportation. The total cost of the ropeway project is Rs 424 crore. The total distance of 4.2 km will be covered in just 15 minutes.

The 'One Health' project was launched by Dr Renu Swarup, Secretary, DBT through video conferencing. The Consortium is comprised of 27 

organizations and will be led by the DBT-National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad.  The One health consortium consists of AIIMS, Delhi, AIIMS Jodhpur, IVRI, Bareily, GADVASU, Ludhiana, TANUVAS, Chennai, MAFSU, Nagpur, Assam agricultural and veterinary university and many more ICAR, ICMR centres and wild life agencies.

Talace Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons , has won the bid for acquiring Air India marking the end of the process to privatise the national carrier with the government approving its disinvestment. The CCEA-approved Air India Specific Alternative Mechanism (AISAM) approved the highest price bid of Talace Pvt Ltd for the sale of 100 percent equity shareholding of the Government of India in Air India along with equity shareholding of Air India in AIXL and AISATS. 

The winning bid is for Rs 18,000 crore as Enterprise Value (EV) consideration for AI (100 per cent shares of AI along with AI's shareholding in AIXL and AISATS).
